[Yomiko is out and about, watching all the pretty women of the city with a blissful grin on her face... Er, rather, make it a kind of perverted overly cheerful expression, really. Feel free to be stalked by her?]

~~~~~~~~
[OOC: Yomiko's affected by the sexuality reversal curse... Though... I'm not sure it's all that much of a reversal... *Cough*]
Not my style
I've never really liked the rain too much. Mainly because I always forget to take an umbrella out with me and making one out of paper doesn't work too well since my abilities don't work with that...
But you know what they say, "April showers bring May flowers"~! So I guess all this rain just means we'll have plenty to look forward to next month, right?
... Ah, but I guess I'm going to need an umbrella before then, huh....?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[OOC: I've been so dreadfully inactive with my muses lately, but I just haven't been able to think of anything to do with them around the city lately, and with exams... eh. I'll do my best, though~]

Shock
Something like this... If it's only a short curse, then... All those people...

Ah, sorry I've been so quiet lately, everybody! I've been so busy reading everything in the library getting things together for the end of class. We'll be having the final exam soon, so I hope you've all read the required material! It's just so hard to make up a test for a place like this when the subject is something like history! There's an infinite number of histories to account for, after all! It's a shame we could only cover a few of them. Well, at least it'll mean an easier exam, right~?

Since summer's coming up soon, I guess it wouldn't hurt to get a job at the library while class is out~. I spend so much time there anyway, after all... OH! That's right, I'd almost forgotten!

Happy Easter~!

[In the spirit of the holiday, Yomiko's going around with paper bunny ears in her hair, though her outfit's still the same. Feel free to reply either by journal or just notice the little bunny-eared book nerd walking around the city with her nose in a history textbook.]

[Having been pulling another late night at the library, Yomiko awakes to find her in the outfit in the lower left corner here. And looking equally distressed over it.]

E-Eh~?! Um.... This is.... Oh, uh.... It's a little tight, isn't it...?

[Switching back and forth between trying to pull the ridiculously short skirt down and the ridiculously low cleavage up. Oooooh dear.]

That last curse... Was pretty bad, wasn't it? If any of my students were affected, I'll understand if you want to take some time before coming back to class.

... I'd be lying if I said I didn't find it all fascinating... Like living in a mystery novel. But... That doesn't make it better, does it?

Ah, well, it's over now, so... We should all try to move forward, shouldn't we~? S-So, for the rest of my class! We'll be covering the history of Great Britain for a while! I know there's a lot of people from different versions of it, so I'm really curious to know what they're like~!

On a happier note, I found a copy of "The Maltese Falcon" today~! It's in wonderful condition, and the paper feels splendid~! It makes me wish I could take all of these books home with me, but I don't think the library would appreciate it if I never returned its stock... Ahhh... Still, I'll savor every page~!

Oh, that's right... Hang on...

[Private]
Um... Marron-san... About Gateau-san...

Does he take off his shirt like that a lot....? It's a little odd...

So calming~
[Video post]
[The device is, as usual, tied to the top of Yomiko's suitcase, but instead of being outside, engrossed in a novel this time, Yomiko is engrossed in a letter she's writing out in the living room of her apartment. She also isn't wearing her usual long coat, leaving just a formal-looking British Library uniform consisting of a formal white button-up shirt with a neatly-arranged red tie and a long brown skirt. She looks a little less unkempt than usual, and the glasses she's wearing don't quite look like the ones she usually wears, and there's even a ring on one hand. In general, though, she doesn't seem very different. However, there does seem to be a much smaller quantity of books in the apartment than usual. There's still a ridiculous amount of them, but there aren't so many that the whole apartment's flooded with them.]

Hmmmhmmhmmmm~♪...

[She hums "Ode to Joy" cheerfully as she writes, oblivious to anyone who might be watching.]

[Handwritten letter]
Dear Donnie,

Sorry I wasn't home to spend Valentine's Day with you, but hopefully I'll be home soon! (Cartoonish doodle of Yomiko giving a peace sign in the margin)

I really miss you, but this place has been pretty nice all things considered. I've met a lot of really nice people here! Marron-san's been doing your job for the most part - making sure I remember to eat and don't spend all day with my nose in a book - so I'm really thankful for that. His brother just showed up, but I haven't really met him yet. (Cartoonish doodle of Yomiko shrugging and sighing)

Naoto-san's been really nice, too! (It's clear this part's been erased a few times, but it looks like she started to write "He", "She", and "It" at some point) Naoto-san's a book lover, too, mysteries and detective stories, mostly. When I told them Sherlock Holmes himself was here at one point, they just looked ecstatic~! (Cartoonish doodle of Yomiko laughing)

Still, I wish you could be here with me. The library here's so big, I just know you'd love it! They even have Nenene Sumiregawa's books here! You remember how much I told you I'd love to meet her someday, right? If I'm lucky, I might have the chance here! Haha~! Oh, and I've been practicing, since I know you'd want me to, but I don't think I'll ever have the same way with paper that you do, Donnie. But someday I will! I promise! I'll make you and Mister Joker proud! (Cartoonish doodle of Yomiko with determined expression/fiery eyes)

Hopefully, with everything you've taught me, I can somehow make this piece of paper return safely to you back home. The connection we have can make it happen, I know it, Donnie! I hope to see you soon!

-With Love, your friend, pupil, and romantic interest~♥

Ah... Wow... I don't know whether it's this book I'm reading or something else but I, ah... I feel a little strange today... Ha, did we turn the heat up too high today~?

Haaa~... It's nice to have clothes again... Now I can go out...?

[A puzzled pause]

A red letter? "M".... It-...

[A stifled gasp, realization of what it means setting in. As many books as she's read, it's only logical that The Scarlet Letter was one of them.]

I'm... Um, if anyone needs me, I think... I'm going to be staying inside today, too...

WHAT?!, Overslept
[Accidental Video]
[The room is dark, but it looks like the camera is shooting from a high shelf in the kitchen of an apartment. After a while, someone with long, unkempt black hair sluggishly walks into view of the camera, only visible from the armpit up, and... Well, it's hard to see in the dark, but she appears to be wearing nothing but a pair of glasses. She walks over to the fridge, opens it, bends down to get a bottle of milk, then pauses. She stands up, looking around in confusion. It's unusually chilly...

Then, suddenly, she's not so sluggish and sleepy anymore, suddenly she's very wide awake, and with good reason, having just realized that her pajamas aren't where they were that morning. Hence the following high-pitched scream.
]

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH~!!

W-WHERE ARE-!?

[Of course, in all of this ruckus, one's bound to wake up one's roommates...]

Marron-saaaaaaan~!

Hey, is it alright if Mister Miss ... Naoto-san stays with us? I was going to let him her Naoto-san stay in one of the extra rooms after I finished clearing my books out of it. It's alright, right~? You don't mind?

[Action for Building 2, Apartment 451]
[Anyone in the vicinity may or may not hear the occasional crashing of a stack of books or two as Yomiko bustles about trying to move them into her already-overpopulated room in preparation for the new arrival]

[The expression on her face would indicate she's seen Marron in his new attire.]

I guess that means there's a curse, then...? I mean, if you have those kinds of hobbies I won't judge, but...

THERE~! I'm finished with the bottles request~! Hahaha~... Eh... So now I have to... Um...

Ah... I guess I need to go get a haircut, then...? Ah, I can't really remember the last time I had one, come to think of it...

Is there anyone who'd be willing to cut my hair for me~? I don't think I'd be able to get the right amount if I did it myself, after all, so any help I can get, I'd really appreciate it~!

[OOC: Yes, my poor, inebriated Yomiko is asking ANYONE to help. Not just people who might actually know what they're doing. So, basically, the naive thing is just BEGGING to be taken advantage of here. Anyone willing to take her up on her offer and try to do something to "spruce up" her disheveled head of hair (cut, color, style, hey, you name it), feel free to call her on it. If you wanna check it with me first, that's cool too; contact info oughta be in my profile.]

[Again, Yomiko's machine is strapped to her suitcase, and the jolt that the screen experiences suggests it was bumped into action. From its angle, we see Yomiko, nose deep in a book, one hand on it while the other is on the suitcase. One may wonder how she manages to flip pages with just one hand, but she's a pro at this. Of course, you'd notice all this first if you didn't happen to notice the bright rainbow of her hair. It's colorful, and almost unnoticeably rotating like one of those fiber optic lamps. If you got past that fact, you'd see that it's also unkempt, because she never bothered to stop and look in the mirror and run a comb through it this morning, hence why she hasn't noticed. She's oblivious to the world around her, consumed by the book in front of her as she walks to the library]

Jinbōchō's actually a really neat place to live~! There's tons of used book stores, curio shops, and the people there are all really nice! The book store owners all know me by name, and they're always so helpful about finding books they think I'd like~. The Tokyo Book Binding Club, Literature Preservation Society, and several book publishing companies are there, too. Oh, and there's a lot of colleges nearby, so there's always students walking around, too~. It's a great town.

There was even a fire back in the early 1900's, but it's survived through the years wonderfully.

Ah, I suppose that's all there is to say, though. It's pretty normal, really~.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT~!

I FOUND IT! A FIRST EDITION PRINT OF THE RUBAIYAT OF OMAR KHAYYAM~! THERE WERE ONLY 250 COPIES PRINTED! AND IT'S STILL IN THE ORIGINAL PAPER WRAPPER~! I CAN'T BELIEVE I MANAGED TO FIND IT HERE~! Aaaaaah~!

Phew~! Anyway, now that the holidays are over, it's time to get back to work. For my class, I'd like you all to write a short essay on how the New Year is celebrated in your cultures at home! If you don't, you can write about your experiences with it in the city! While I'm reading this After you've finished, I'd like you to study the next few chapters in the text. We'll be moving on to the western cultures soon, particularly Europe and Africa, so study hard!

It's good to have my own abilities back... I was really worried for a moment there...

The death of books
[Accidental Video post//Action for anyone by the fountain]
[See a low and from-the-back perspective view of a black-haired woman walking around with her head in a book as she walks, reading intently. She isn't watching where she's going, but you can't really tell from this angle. ... Well, you can't tell until she runs into the big fountain in front of her, at which point the camera stops moving and she flops against the fountain's side, dropping her book into the water. She wails like a woman who just dropped her baby into a river and quickly sheds her big trenchcoat to dive in after the book. She reemerges shortly after, spluttering and coughing and straightening the big glasses on her face with one hand. When she notices that the book in her other hand is soaked as she is, she lets out a cry of shock and urgency.]

AH! O-Oh no! The pages will stick! AH! The ink will run! Nonononono!

[As she climbs quickly out of the fountain, she obscures the camera, and the dripping sound she makes masks the sound of quickly flapping paper; if one is close enough to the fountain by now they may or may not see the pages of the book waving in the air like someone was blowing a hair dryer on all of them at once. Yomiko, on the other hand, is sniffling like a baby, distraught over the one book. A strange sight for nearly anyone to be sure. She hasn't even noticed where she is yet. She HAS, however, noticed how COLD the water is.]

... AHHHH! C-COLD!!

Ah! It's already Christmas Eve! I lost a day! I have to hurry to make sure everyone gets their gifts!

Kamiya-san, I hope you can read, I hope you don't mind, but I got something for you in the spirit of the holiday! The Tale of Genji, a real classic! It's from the early Heian period, so it's pretty old even for you. A lot of people consider it the world's first novel, even! Since it's so old, I couldn't manage an original print, but it's a very well-read copy in any event. I hope you like it! It's a beautiful story~!

Marron-san, I got you something, too! The Rāmāyaṇa, an important part of Indian culture in my world! It's an epic that explores human existence and holds great philosophical and cultural significance! And it's a great read~!

Hiyori-san, I got a book for you, too~. Actually, it's the most recent issue of Shōnen Jump I could find here. I hope that's alright~... I got another copy for myself; I hope that doesn't detract from the gift's value any...

Umm... Badou-san, I got you something, too, if you still need it. It's a cookbook for Christmas dinners!
